Fabric For A Good Cause

We love sharing great causes, and when it involves pets we are thrilled. Who can resist a furry face?

Meet Joey The Shop Dog.
Joey was a rescue dog adopted by Rose Ann Cook, a fabric designer and quilt shop owner. Joey became such a popular addition to the shop that the idea of a fabric line featuring him was born. Rose Ann created the line with photos of Joey for inspiration, and many of the block panels are based on the photos of Joey's shop activities. There are panels to make a quilt, a panel to make a stuffed Joey pillow, and bolts of Joey prints. The fabric collection was created by Benartex, who then surprised Rose Ann by donating a portion of the proceeds to help animal shelters. Cute fabric helping a great cause, it's a win for everyone. Joey even attended Quilt Market to promote his personal fabric line. Being a celebrity has not gone to his head though, Joey still goes to work with Rose Ann on a regular schedule. Some people wait to visit the shop until Joey is there.

We are proud to carry the Joey The Shop Dog fabric collection by Benartex in our fabric department.

Joey has a Facebook page for his fans, and even helps out stray animals.
Rose Ann says:
If someone local finds a stray, they’ll send me a pic, and Joey will write up a story about the stray—have been able to find homes for about 2 dozen dogs. Joey does so much good.

You can visit Joey at Quilter's Emporium in Stafford, Texas.
