Wishing for Spring

Tired of the rain and ready for some sunshine? Wishing for spring (and no more of this dreary weather), Billie Jo was inspired to make whimsical art project using a shadowbox frame.

Crafted by Billie Jo.

Supplies

  • Unfinished Wooden Shadowbox
  • Floral Moss
  • Small Artificial Flowers
  • Patterned Scrapbooking Paper
  • Decorative Tin Metal Strip
  • Vinyl Lettering "Wish"
  • Floral Stickers
  • Adhesive
  • Paintbrush
  • Tin Snips
  • Scissors

  1. Using the paintbrush, apply paint to the entire shadowbox, both inside and out.
  2. Set it aside to let dry.
  3. Once dry, glue a thin layer of moss on the bottom of the box.
  4. Glue the small floral stems to resemble a meadow of wildflowers.
  5. Measure and cut the patterned scrapbooking paper to fit on the inside of the frame back.
  6. Glue the paper onto the frame back and adhere the vinyl word "wish" onto it.
  7. Secure the frame back onto the shadowbox frame.
  8. Measure and cut the decorative tin metal strip to fit onto the top front of the frame glass.
  9. Glue it on using a strong adhesive.
  10. Set the frame aside to let it completely dry.

Once dry, it's ready to display!
